If I were running for President I'd do the math, and figure the impact on oil prices of new North American shale production at volume. Easiest tax cut in history.

The graph shows oil now soaring in 2010 dollar terms.

The serious point is that we can swap perspective, take oil as the value benchmark, and say the dollar is getting cheap.

The more interesting point is not Carter/Obama - it is the end of seriously trying to stop communism in SE Asia (1969). That is the point the media realized they could lie to the public and influence voting to accept marxist rule. Sun Tzu would be proud.
