The one bracket Princeton can win

Here is what would happen if the NCAA men's basketball brackets were resolved according to the post-graduation salaries of each participating school.

Brings to mind the classic and exceedingly snotty Northwestern University cheer from the 1970s (delivered, typically, when Ohio State racked up its eighth touchdown of the afternoon): "That's alright, that's OK, you'll be working for us some day!"

We used that same cheer in Charlottesville in the mid-80s when Virginia Tech would be beating us by the same sort of margin.

And when James Madison would beat us.

And when the Blind Sisters of Charity would beat us...

Unfortunately, these days the cheer should go the other way with the confiscatory costs of "elite" higher education.

"That's alright, that's ok, you're in debt to us today!"

I'm just asking.

Would Harvard have won the playoff, so that Princeton never got in?

Amusing. Stanford made the tournament 11years running. Where's coach Montgomery's statue? (Don't know if the Cardinal would've prevailed every year, but the same site shows Stanford salaries currently ahead of Duke but behind Princeton. See http://www.payscale.com/best-colleges/top-us-colleges-graduate-salary-statistics.asp.)

I'm pretty sure the cheer didn't originate at NU. I first heard it in the late 70s while at Deerfield Academy and later as an undergrad at NU. Just as snotty in each location.

Fight fiercely, Harvard!
Demonstrate to them our skill.
Albeit they possess the might,;
Nonetheless we have the will

And the income too it seems....

Anon 2:23 -- If you were at Deerfield in the late '70s you probably knew my uncle (the husband of a cousin, actually) Peter Esty. I *almost* went to Deerfield from 77-79, but ended up at Lawrenceville instead.

If you threw out the low paying weather forecaster degrees earned by a few UW graduates, all those Dr degrees might overtake Princeton.

I heard that cheer at Yale football games 30+ years ago when my Dad would take me to their games.

But they are actually good at Duke.
