The new CNN show

The former governor of the Empire State and a WaPo columnist discuss important matters.

I have no particular expertise in programming cable news channels, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that this new show, which starts next month on CNN, will not be on the air by April Fool's Day 2011. Perhaps you'll agree that the best part of the teaser at the link is the music (or the end).

Is CNN deliberately trying to shed viewers at the 8:00 pm time slot? What advanced demographic and market analysis was performed by network executives to come up with this concept? Is CNN now down at the level of a local cable access station in Aurora, Illinois?

I will even try to watch for a night or two, just to say I saw it. I'll report back if it is not as bad as predicted.

Appalling. Glad I haven't had TV for over 30 years, and this explains why.

Kathleen Parker is supposed to represent the Right in this pairing, but she’s only gotten attention for her savage attacks on Palin in 2008 (calling her Not Ready For Prime Time) and on Glen Beck’s recent rally (calling him a grandiose alcoholic). I suspect she’ll be used as a set-up man for Eliot Progressive rants. Eliot will get lots of fungoes to hit.

Will lefties like Eliot? Maybe. If they buy into his Oh So Smart Rants.

But women should hate him on principle and for being the swarmiest guy on the planet.

Most men will hate him period. (Why the white socks, Eliot?).

This isn’t “Guy You Have to Watch Hate - Good For Ratings Hate” … it’s “Turn-the-Dial Hate”.

This pairing has no chance with those on the Right and won’t draw Independents.

CNN can’t go broke fast enough.

UGH, says this lefty woman. April Fool's? I hope it's gone by the Epiphany...

We haven't really watched CNN since they got rid of Aaron Brown. They (and their ratings) have been downhill since then.

Given Elliot Spitzer's wealthy father, I wonder if Spitzer paid CNN to be on the show.

How out of touch can CNN be? The best conservative they could come up with is Kathleen Parker? One of the reasons why I turned away from the liberal mindset and to become a Conservative is that the Left's argument's never make it past the second level of questions. Where as the conservative ideology is data and fact based, while the liberal argument is emotionally based and over-simplified.

Kathleen Parker has 7 days to write her columns and yet I find most of them either uninteligible or simply dim-witted. How the hell is she going to hang with Spitzer on the spur of a moment discussion? Say what you will about him (first class dusche bag), but he is very smart and he will out yell her with the same tired liberal rants and she will get rolled. This is a dream come true for Spitzer where he gets a forum to kick the crap out of an intellectual lightweight...

I am just trying out your new predictions platform.
This is interesting for Collective intelligence purposes and well done.
Could I have more background information on that project? Having worked at Yahoo!
Answers, Flickr and Community products out of Canada, I like to discover interesting projects like this.
