Are more people reading Atlas Shrugged?

I note with no small interest that Atlas Shrugged is as of this writing ranked an astonishing #110 on Amazon, up from #142 ten days ago. That is astonishing considering the age of the book, and no doubt a sign of the times.

Santelli described himself as an "Ayn Rander" the other day, perhaps goosing sales a bit more.

Since Reagan, libertarian Republicans have allowed neoconservatives and social conservatives to call the shots much of the time. Libertarian Republicans need to get control of the Republican Party. Unfortunately, most people who hate big government have little interest in participating in big government--even to change it.

I'm not going to read it, but thanks to information gleaned here a couple of weeks back, I did find and order the Cliff's Notes.

The Cliff Notes might be a good idea. The book is one of the longest in the English language. A damn good book, but occasionally a real struggle to get through. Especially the 40 page monologues.
