George Hussein Obama

On the one hand, if I lived in a Nairobi slum I would smoke pot, at the very least. You need something serious to take the edge off of that kind of misery.

On the other hand, however, it is curious that President Obama has not apparently helped his close Kenyan relatives. In a place like Kenya, a few hundred bucks a month could make a big difference to the whole family. Even if he does not feel any particular obligation to these people he barely knows, you'd think that the return in public relations among the "family is family" voters would make it more than worthwhile.

Good Lord. He met his father only once. How close could they be?

Maybe Rev. Wright instructed him on the teachings in Matthew 6:

"(But) take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.

When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you."

Or maybe not.

Nevertheless, it is a worthwhile Bible lesson for today -- to do the right thing without drawing attention to yourself. That probably means no "pledge" videos on YouTube!

There was a time when being humble and quiet was an American trait.

I meant close in the sense of consanguinity, not emotional interaction. Point is, I do not think one is obligated to bail out every second cousin, but siblings are perhaps another matter. Anyway, I am not being critical of President Obama here, just noticing that he is missing something of a P.R. opportunity, I think. Maybe I'm wrong.

With Barry it is me, myself or I.

There could be other political angles here as well. The President providing money to foreign nationals is a little... muddy, in any case. If said money is used to for drugs, weapons, or questionable political activities then it could get pretty ugly. And that's assuming that there is no change in American policy toward Kenya.

Besides all that, you never know when you might need a kidney from a poor relative.

I am surprised that they enforce laws against a guy bonging bhang over there.

President Obama's half-brother's subsistence existence was a big deal back in August when I claimed that he wrote a book titled "Dreams from my Faddah."

But his election gives them hope.

But taking money from foreign nationals is perfectly OK.

Obama preaches a good line, but he doesn't live it very well. We're all supposed to volunteer for community service, but does Obama? He hands out food at Thanksgiving, but what else? He wants to "redistribute" our wealth, but I guess he doesn't want that done with HIS. We're all supposed to turn down our thermostats and eat less, but he can keep the thermostat up in the White House and serve $100 steak. I think the word for this is HYPOCRISY.

PLEASE...Caesar has no obligation to explain himself to riff-raff such as us.

I'm just happy that he has, in a single week, increased tax revenues by cleverly appointing Democratic tax evaders to cabinet positions! Brilliant!!

How he treats his immediate family is of no concern.

This is all about the color of his skin...NOT the content of his character...

With most liberals including the President, they are extraordinarily free with other peoples' monies but are the stingiest of people with their own.
I see no generousity with either Michelle, Barack or Joe Biden. They are hard hearted hacks although they wear a bleeding heart on their sleeves.
