Catharsis

Victor Davis Hanson uploads "ten random, politically incorrect thoughts." Every one of them deserves long discussion. Add your own in the comments (taking care, in your incorrectness, to be civil).

VDH is my age and speaks my language.

Very good list.

What an enjoyable read!

Having a total of 6 years of Latin under my belt, I find that I often have to choose a simpler synonym to avoid creating communication barriers with the "phonics" generation.

They are, in many ways, culturally incompetent.

But their vote is as good as your and mine.

Perhaps the wisdom of the Founding Fathers in restricting the right to vote to property owners was not a bad idea after all.

Spendthrift government, poor education, politically correct social impulses and inchoate political rage are the inheritance we leave our children. Fortunately, the "generation skipping trust" they also inherit gives them a measure of freedom, an innate sense they have responsibility for their own lives, and a clear sense of American exceptionalism and ideals. Judging by the quality of the character of my children's friends and their various classmates at the two excellent universities they attend, I'm optimistic America's future is in very good hands.
