Risk and public policy 


With financial markets in turmoil and promises for indemnification against risk flowing from presidential candidates, I was reminded of a post I wrote back in 2006 on the management of risk in democratic countries. I was delighted to conclude that I still agree with every word of it!

Will the Chinese follow it in Tibet? I notice the govt controlled press is urging that the rebels be "crushed" in time for Bush and the rest of the CEOs who've mortgaged our nation to these assholes to arrive for the Olympics. And such folk have the nerve to question Obama's patriotism? Well, he's in good company now. The Speaker of the House...and the GOP 2008 nominee-apparent.
