Tiger picture of the day

The 'Villain sends us this interesting tiger story.

A pregnant tigress makes a spectacular leap to freedom from a boat in eastern India.

The tiger had to be rescued from a date palm tree where she had sought sanctuary after being chased and stoned by terrified villagers.

Leaping tiger

You have to love the concept of "terrified villagers." You never read "enraged urbanites" or "anxious cityfolk." You get the feeling that "terrified villagers" is journalistic code for "clueless rubes." A bit unsympathetic, I would say, given how scary tigers are.

GO TIGER GO!

No matter. Some Chinese big shot with whom uber patriot Tigerhawk as likely inked a lucrative business deal or outsourcing/union busting affair will pay a "terrified villager" to poach mama tigress so yet another rube can pluck out her ovaries and grind them into tea. Said Chinese bigshot will then feed the tea to his mistress to increase her libido, though she'd tired from sleeping with yet another bigshot who's inked yet another deal from a patriotic American to buy, along with some Arabs, a major bank and a defense contractor. The latter sale is moot, as the bigshot's industrial spies have already stolen the technology.

The moral: there are scarier things out there than startled tigresses and "Islamofascists."

Heh. Writing off the Asian vote, Chris?

And here you said you weren't "cartoonish". :)

Mother Nature sure is cruel, isn't she? No, no, I'm not referring to Christopher. That would be "God visiting his wrath upon the unsuspecting," or some such.

No, I'm referring to Mother Nature, and how she could be so benevolent in designing one creature, and so cruel with another.

"After leaping into the sea she swam powerfully into the shallows and bounded away to safety."

Here Mother Nature gives these remarkable swimming powers to tigers, yet polar bears can't swim 10 feet and will surely die if the ice they're on breaks off due to global warming.

It's just not right!

The Asian vote? The Asian-Americans (both the US and Brit meaning of that word "Asian"--from Chinese to Indian) I know agree with me. hahaha. My wife's Indian doctor said there'd be a thousand more tigers in preserves right now were it not for the Chinese...my Chinese cohort at Georgetown tells me this affintity for exotic remedies like tiger dick is a hard habit for traditionalists to break!

Poaching is not a sport; just like raising poppies or coca leaves is not some insidious, evil endeavor. These people are poor and the way to stop it is to help them develop micro economies and mirco loans..and pinch off demand.
