Annals of scorn-heaping: Dennis Miller's rant of the long knives

I was busy today from beginning to end and have had no opportunity to post anything here. That said, before I lay me down to sleep I did want to make sure that each and every one of you had the opportunity to watch Dennis Miller's thrashing of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Miller is so vicious that I almost feel badly for Reid. I certainly hope nobody shows this to his grandchildren.

Yeah, I don't like it when our guys do this.

Said more about Miller than Reid, I'd say.

Reid, like most politicians, has skin thicker than a rhino's. However, Miller confined his remarks to Reid and his policies, in contrast to Alec Baldwin's call for attacking Henry Hyde's children and grandchildren. Hence, Miller's mauling is all within the unwritten rule of politcal savagery - no wives or children. OK by me.

Moses supposedly went through the "Sea of Reeds."

We have to travel through a "Sea of Reids."

Sort of makes Rush's "Dingy Harry" monniker kind by comparison.

It seems to me that Dennis Miller has discovered there's more money to be made in being a conservative cod... I mean... mouthpiece.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Tue Jun 12, 10:45:00 AM:

The phrase "ripping a new arse" comes to mind. That was the tongue lashing of all tongue lashings.

Presented by the way as a comedian, rather than some political commentary. One can only wonder what other comedians, like that dork from Air America, have said about the GOP.

I didn't like Miller as a MNF commentator, but I like the way he thinks. I'm going to keep my eye on him ...

Yeah, we get it. He's not pretty and he has a funny voice. He calls it like it is in Iraq. He doesn't have the most godawful laugh track running behind him like Miller. Seriously, did anyone believe that there was someone laughing at Miller, or just a guy in a studio hitting a button? The classic scene from Annie Hall comes to mind.

The Carpetbagger shows Miller how to rip someone a new one. And, I don't feel sorry for Miller.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Tue Jun 12, 03:25:00 PM:

You call that ripping Miller a new one?

Reid and his peeps are morons, and ignoring the most critical issue of our times. Miller is a comedian and postured as one on a spoof newshour. Reid tries not to be a comedian serving among our highest level of government.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Tue Jun 12, 05:18:00 PM:

Reid is focused on the central issue of our time. Ending the Mess'O'Potamia and getting back to fighting Al Qaeda.

I guess Miller wants to put an attractiveness test before public comment. Maybe if there is one, he'll shut the hell up!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Tue Jun 12, 10:33:00 PM:

Well, that should give pause to all the "how dare he" Maher critics who feign sanctimony on a daily basis. If only.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wed Jun 13, 04:08:00 AM:

In case you haven't been following the news, we are actually fighting Al-Qaeda within Iraq.

Pulling out=victory for al-qaeda

By Blogger clint, at Thu Jun 14, 09:53:00 AM:

I second Assistant Village Idiot's comment -- I don't like it when "our guys" do this. We're supposed to be better than that. The fact that Dennis Miller is "just a comedian" is negated by the fact that Fox is giving him a podium during a news broadcast.

Just curious... can you name one bill Senator Reid has sponsored, since becoming Majority Leader, that aimed to get "back to fighting Al Qaeda," other than by pulling our troops out of Iraq?

Looks like a standard Fox News program to me. Fox News is responsible for their programming. Imagine the Hillary material they're coming up with.

Dennis Miller, the voice of Fox.
