suggesting that the U.S. military command would fall apart if we tried to attack them.

Do you have any idea how many active duty generals and admirals we have?

We're not going to "fall apart" if we lose a small handful out of SEVERAL FREAKING HUNDRED

1) Unless the Iranians seriously think there will be negative consequences to their actions, they will continue on their hell-bent charge to get nukes. (I picked my words intentionally)
2) There are two kinds of pressure that can be brought to bear on Iran, Military and Non-Military.
3) This is a Military Pressure thing. We are, in Retief language, adopting gesture 405b, A Strong Stance With Threats Of Military Action And We Mean It. Expect to see more
4) The Diplomats in the mean time are doing a Kissinger.
5) The Democratics in the mean time are doing a Neville Chamberlain.

Right now, if the Russians withdraw, the Iranians will not have a reactor, just a multi-billion dollar concrete hole in the sand, and without a bomb being dropped.

First of all, I don't understand the connection between Arab states giving Israeli jets fly-over rights, and the *alleged* threatened resignations of a handful of old officers. But whatever.

Secondly, does anyone else notice that UAE, Qatar, and Oman aren't between Israel and Iran, and so their 'willingness to grant flyover' is pretty much meaningless? Israeli planes can't even get to those countries without crossing Jordan or Saudi, and if they can cross Jordan then they can just go over Iraq.
